The Cancer Society of New Zealand is the leading organisation dedicated to reducing the incidence of cancer and ensuring the best cancer care for everyone in New Zealand.

We are the leading cancer patient advocate in New Zealand, providing a voice on all kinds of issues including cancer detection and treatment. We have a National Office located in Wellington, six regional offices and 16 centres, all involved in raising their own funds and providing local support services.

We provide a range of support services for people with cancer and their family/caregivers.

Research

We provide funding for life-saving and world class cancer research.

Information

The Cancer Society is the country’s largest source of information about cancer and its effects. We have a range of information including booklets, leaflets, tapes, CDs, information sheets, videos and books. We also have a Directory of Cancer Information Providers.

Information is available free at your local Cancer Society office or through the Cancer Information Helpline 0800 CANCER (226 237). Booklets, Information Sheets and other information resources can also be downloaded directly from this site.

Health Promotion

The health promotion team encourages New Zealanders to live a healthier lifestyle. They do this through education, advocacy, policy and communication on the following topics:

  • Tobacco Control
  • Skin Cancer Prevention
  • Nutrition and Physical Activity
  • Screening and Early Detection 
  • Men's Health

Volunteering

The Cancer Society values the immense input of its volunteers and strives to provide them with a rewarding experience.  If you would like to share some of your time and skills with us, please contact your local Cancer Society office.

Donations

The Cancer Society is an independent charity and is not funded by the Government. We rely on personal support, such as donations and bequests, and fund-raising events including Relay For Life and Daffodil Day. To make a donation please contact your local Cancer Society office.

Daffodil Enterprises Ltd is the charity's commercial entity, developing Cancer Society-branded products.
